SHIFTS! acts as a community-driven management tool for coordinating shifts. We believe in transparency and require only the exact data needed to ensure coordination is met while keeping volunteers safe.

1. CloudKit & Data Transparency

Public & Shared Databases: To facilitate a cooperative environment, your provided Name, Phone Number, and Experience Level are saved securely to Apple's CloudKit (utilizing Public and Shared database environments). By registering for a shift, your name and experience will be visible to other volunteers on that specific shift to help coordinate efforts.
Admin Exporting & Analytics: For real-world shelter operations, registered admins have the ability to export shift rosters and insurance declarations to external platforms (such as Google Sheets).

2. SOS Push Notifications

Your phone number operates as your unique anonymous identifier. It is also utilized as a target for "SOS Alert" Direct Messages originating from Admins specifically when volunteer capacities drop below critical levels. It is never sold, marketed, or shared externally for commercial means.

1. No Official Affiliation

This app was developed privately and purely out of goodwill to bridge technological gaps. It is completely unofficial. Always defer to the real-world shelter staff, designated managers, and municipal directives. The app will not be held liable for miscommunications, missed shifts, or scheduling conflicts.

2. Real-World Responsibility & Insurance

WARNING: Checking the "I filled out my insurance" toggle within the app does not grant you legal insurance coverage.

YOU MUST SIGN THE OFFICIAL PHYSICAL/DIGITAL DOCUMENT. It is your sole responsibility to ensure your annual municipality volunteer insurance is valid before touching or walking any dog or participating in physical volunteer work. The developer of this app assumes absolutely zero liability for any injury, damage, or legal disputes occurring on external shelter grounds.

3. Community Integrity Guidelines

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your profile information accurate so team leaders can reach you in case of shift cancellations.
• Only marking your Experience Level as "Experienced" or "Shift Manager" if explicitly granted by official staff.
• Canceling your shifts with sufficient forewarning if you cannot attend, giving waitlisted members unhindered access.
